02. Compare (3) and contrast (3) the reading you completed with the ppts. on Modernist culture and literature.
-There is a break that include a strong reaction against established religious, political, and social views.
-The world is created in the act of perceiving it; that is, the world is what we say it is, and not subscribe to absolute truth.
-The argument of 'Trouble Is My Business' have the tipycal characterisics of black cinema.
-Show us a private detective in a dark environmet,with women, el alcohol and violence.
-The money and the pursue of power are the main intentions of the human relationships.
03. In your opinion, do you feel the readings you completed are very good or excellent examples of Modernist literature?
Yes, because for exmple Chndler, had an immense stylistic influence upon the modern private detective story,in the style of the writing and the attitudes now characteristic of the genre.On the other hand, in the case of Seven Pillars of Wisdom,is not only a consummate military history, but also a colorful epic and a lyrical exploration of the mind of a great man, this is one of the indisputable classics of 20th century English literature.
04. Would you recommend these readings to your friends and/or family? Why/why not?
Yes,because it is a good detective story,has a lot of dtails and decriptions of the environmet and characters,but sometimes the plot of each one of these stories quickly becomes complex, winding and almost impossible to follow.In the case of Seven Pillars of Wisdom,is a classic of military history,show us the story of World War I's Turkish Theater from the Arab/English perspective. It's amazing by his depiction of Arab culture of the time and its seeming connection with past and present
